This mixed-use transit-oriented development is located on a two-acre site in the heart of Los Angeles’ Chinatown district. Davies Associates developed a comprehensive signage and graphics program for 262 apartments, 20,000 SF of ground level retail space, three levels of subterranean parking, and a large urban plaza with direct connection to the Metro Gold line station. Signage design, materials, patterns and textures were inspired by Chinese art and architecture including red lacquer finish on sign panels, colorful garage graphics derived from zodiac imagery, and large mosaic panels depicting abstracted details from traditional Chinese paintings.
